Followed Jim Smith to Colchester United for a transfer fee of £6,000 after scoring 21 goals in 28 matches. Later followed Jim Smith to Second Division Blackburn - where he was top scorer in 76/7, and had a loan spell with Watford, but his career was halted by a serious injury.
