Tommy Mitcham

Tommy Mitcham Forward (38-49) First played for Boston as a teenager in 1938. The war intervened and he was called up to the RAF regiment and posted to India and then Burma. When he was de-mobbed in 1946 he returned to Boston, got married, and resumed playing for United. A fast raiding winger who scored a fair share of goals, including a spectacular effort that sealed victory for Boston in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup Final in 1946. In 1949 he moved to Ilfracombe in Devon along with player/manager Jack Long. Born 6/4/1921. He died in September 1966.
