Dion-Curtis Henry
« on: August 31, 2016, 11:33:00 PM »
So, we've signed a young keeper on loan for until January. Let's hope he specialises in clean sheets! Assuming he goes into the team, is the suggestion that Mr Dibble isn't what DG wanted from a keeper, and if so, why are we employing a goal keeping coach, who doesn't seem to be getting the desired results from the only senior player he has to coach? On the plus side, young keepers, for the most part have done well, so let's hope its the first step to helping to sure up the leaky defence.

He who would valiant be , 'gainst all disaster.
Let him in constancy follow the master.
There's no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.

Do we really need another keeper when Dibble is an excellent keeper and we have the experienced Michael Emery as a back up? For the record, Michael also coaches the U-21, Youth and Academy keepers, not just Dibble. Are either Dibble or Emery leaving the club, albeit on loan themselves?

Surprising one this, from the match I've seen and reports from other matches, Dibble has not had a bad start and kept us in the game on a few occasions.

Dion-Curtis does look to be a highly rated young keeper with the reigning Premier League champions interested in him last year. Maybe it was just too good an offer to not take such a highly rated prospect?

Especially for free, as it's only a Youth Loan.

Oh well, I suppose we will just have to wait and see how young Dion-Curtis fits into a club with 2 senior goalkeepers already on its books. Don't suppose he has been brought in for the National League U-19 Alliance games as we are in the same group as Peterborough in any case! Time will tell....

This lad is very highly rated by several Peterborough fans that i know, they say he is a great shot stopper and vocal. Obviously Dens feels that those who he brought in at the start of the season and that were rated when looked at, now needs to be challenged by a loanee. When a team is under performing, as we are, bringing in competition for places on the cheap can only be a beneficial thing.
