Despite the result not being what we wanted of expected there are positives to take from the game. We were solid at the back again with White and Baz both having good games. Austin was poor again, gives possesion away far too easily and isn't the quickest anymore. C Fairclough and Burrows both did well up front. The big negative from the game was that we lacked creativity and were unable to break down a very average side and resulted in the long ball of passing the ball backwards too often (an issue to a greater or lesser extend in every game this season barring Histon.) For me the solution is obvious play 433 with Millson as the extra midfielder who has the ability to use his energy and determination to provide space for Milnes and Sleath to exploit opposition defences. Whilst both Hall and Semple did ok today for me they need to be sacrificed so we can play a formation better suited to the resources we currently have available.

In the Atlantic today so no footy for me!
Short opportunity to get Internet connection so all I will say is remember it's the team foremost we are supporting.  :)

Austin was poor again,

Really? Considering he hasn't played for a while I thought he did OK. The defence isn't really the problem, but we live to fight another day.

Danny Sleath had a poor game today, his passing wasn't very good at all most of the time. Also, can anyone explain how Chris Hall got M.O.T.M?

Agree that Sleath had a rare bad game.  Hall had a few driving runs with the ball, holding off players, and was a candidate for MOM but not enough end result - I'd have gone for White as MOM.  Would like to see Ben Fairclough start the replay as his pace will worry defenders.
This wasn't the dire FA Cup performances of previous years and we had enough chances to win comfortably.  Defence looked solid despite the early loss of Ward.
Watching England in the rugby earlier was frustrating because the ball was too slow coming out of the rucks - watching Boston was similar because we got into a lot of good wide positions then faffed about and didn't get a decent cross in.
Against a lower league side, the key is to do the simple things well - we did for some of the game but at times wanted to over-elaborate when a simple ball would have been better.

No Booking for a karate kick on a defender.

Red Card offense! I doff think that the Referee may have realised he wasn't getting and help from his assistant and was making up for the first one by righting his wrongs.

Come Tuesday I'd hope Kidsgrove would open up a bit.  We've been better in the past few years when teams have gone at us.  Big worry about the defence though.  They seem to be dropping like flies back there.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.
