You do have to question why Fylde have built a 6,000 capacity stadium when their average home attendance last season was 522. OK, it's good they want to progress, but equally they need to be realistic. How far would they need to go to secure a 950% increase in their attendances? With the running costs of such an outsized stadium, this has to become the next Reynolds Arena or Nene Park.

Flid spent EIGHTEEN million quid on that, which may be more, as one end is now going to have corporate boxes in it because those in the main stand sold out. When we go it'll have 3 stands and hold about 4,500-5,000.
Beggars belief what we'll end up with for a third of their budget

Looks like Fylde is building a executive box for every single supporter  ;)

Dave Newton is building a stadium realistic in size and value for money .

Does anyone know whether there's been any progress with the funding for the ground itself? The last report I heard said we were around £2m short and I thought we might be hearing of fundraising schemes,  buy a brick etc
No news is good news, so maybe it's all sorted  8)

Been on holiday for a few weeks, have I missed any news on investors?

Fylde have a multi-millionaire chairman who is football mad. I wish I had his cash.

I know it sounds like bitterness/sour grapes/jealousy, but if I had to wager who would be around in 15 years out of us and Fylde, it'd be us. Seen too many cashed up clubs elevated beyond their level going to the wall not to be slightly worried that they're going to be lumbered with a white elephant stadium they can't afford when the cash runs out (as it ALWAYS does).

Of course, I remember a time when Burton Albion were our inferiors, and look how that's turned out. But Fydle aren't even a quarter of the club Burton were 15 years ago when they began their ascent...

Four hospitality boxes are on the plans.

The roadworks are progressing, and there was some talk in the pub last night that the piling rig is due in soon.
Hopefully there will be an update on progress in today's programme notes. 8)

you've only got to look at rushden to see what happens when the hobby riches run out.
