What a dump of a ground. Next to an industrial estate, and was that the Mersey flowing it's effluent passed one end?

And how I hated Spike Carter, one of the best strikers around at the time.

They always had a good side, all the best players in the North West went to either Bloody Runcorn or Altrincham, we had a terrible record against both for years.

Canal St was the most desolate of places, even though it been flattened and built over I bet its still a grim, gloomy place......

We didn't do too badly against them in the 1984-85 FA Trophy campaign though, did we?

The toilets were well designed though. The wall was at just the right height so you could see over the top and still watch the game.

I always liked the From Behind Your Fences description of them as "offside-orientated violence"...

The social club was okay, a chinese scouser built like a brick outhouse used to welcome you at the door.
I have removed the shell from my racing snail to make it go faster, if anything it's made it more sluggish.

Should have suggested that to Chestnuts LP. A low wall at the toilets and for a sit down jobbie a viewing window.
