Has it closed for good?

http://www.bufc.co.uk/article/3432267/United-announce-new-sponsorship

If it has its a shame, it struck me as been a really integral part of the club bringing a new generation of fans in, fans who might otherwise not have bothered with us.

Anyone know for sure or am I reading it wrong and it'll reopen after the refit?

Thats a shame, I thought it brought a lot of positive publicity to the club and more importantly provided another link between the club and the community. I know of a few people who's kids attended and they thought it was a first class facility.

Is it a victim of funding cuts?

And why didn't the club announce its closure, or did I miss it, I will admit I don't read the O/S very often.

The closure is down to the withdrawal of Government funding and nothing to do with the club as far as finances go.

No, I knew the club weren't financially involved, I imagined it would be central government funding cuts.

I just wondered why all the hush hush secrecy thats all, its not as if anyone at the club is to blame for policy decisions taken in Whitehall!!!

It was announced at the recent end of season dinner and at the sponsors evening, if my memory serves me correctly.

Government funding for learning and skills is a difficult thing to get a hold of at the moment :-(
