Some pix from todays hard fought clash with Horncastle Town where the reserves went down 1-0 to an extra time goal. This was a close encounter with the defining moment probably being the first half dismissal of United defender Tom Ward for bringing an opponent down who was through on goal
A great penalty save later in the match by the pilgrims goalkeeper kept them in the game but the killer punch came in the first half of extra time when Horncastle finally found the back of the Pilgrims net. Although down to 10 men for most of the match the Pilgrims competed throughout the match but the extra time began to tell a bit, especially once the goal had gone in.

The reserves put up a fantastic fight when down (harshly) to 10 men,the Horncastle number 9 got past Wardy and hit a tame shot, then he went over,Wardy was nowhere near him at the time..

Their number 7 should have walked though,he fouled Tom Sergeant and then kicked him while he was on the floor but escaped with a yellow..

Mickey Stones was unlucky late on with an effort that went wide but despite having more goal bound efforts they just couldn't find the net,the winning goal was from a free kick after a shirt pull wide left when the player didn't even have the ball, the resulting free kick was met at the far post for the only goal of the game...

Good Photo's Bunyan. I agree think that the Reserve lads did have more than enough chances to win the game in the second half, they played well with 10 men and had a bloody good go at Horncastle, but looked about dead on their feet in the last period of extra time. Unlucky lads.
