Keep Crossing Shut all the time!
« on: March 06, 2011, 11:08:23 PM »
Nice to travel around town without having to wait in traffic jams! Let's keep the crossing shut all the time!

Just goes to disprove what the county council are always saying - all traffic does NOT have to go through Boston, there is a way round. Now's the time to start putting more pressure on for a bypass; only problem is who is going to take the lead? Certainly not the lot down West Street!

it did seem to work but you've got to ask yourself how many people actually avoided going through boston due to the work being carried out?

We don't need a by-pass!  We need traffic coming into the town as these cars carry shoppers and visitors.  what we need is proper traffic flow and some decent one way systems.

Think thats a fallacy Mr Tickle. Look at all the towns which have bypasses - they don't appear to be suffering. Spalding for example

I think it proves a point that most of the traffic is from boston i do think we need a bye pass but wouldnt stop the jams i deliver round spalding ans sleaford most days both are bye past and spend most of it stuck in traffic

On the other hand, Bourne now has a by-pass of sorts and Crowland seems to have two!

Mind you they had the right man in 'power' at Lincs County Council didn't they?

Are they going to get rid of the lights at the junction of Broadfield St and George St? Can’t see what purpose they serve now with very little traffic coming out of Broadfield St. We would then be light free from the bridge down to Asda. If needed they could put a mini roundabout there
