York Street Snoozes as BUFC Loses
« on: January 15, 2011, 09:05:09 PM »
What happened to the big match day atmosphere today? The place was very quiet considering it was a Cup game.
It livened up a bit in the last five minutes...bit late then though.  :'(

It livened up at the same time as our team decided to liven themselves up, the lot of them should be made to donate their match fees to the Queensland disaster fund!

Listening to Paul Hurst on the post match vid he's not to happy either. We've not looked right since we missed all those games due to the weather.
Never mind, onwards and upwards and  i have faith in S&H to sort them out.

We obviously need some top backbone in defence and midfield .
Will only come with 'new' investment I feel .

The boy Pearson should could be back for Saturday, Murphy will be out for a while yet. You are correct though Ted, missed them both on Saturday.
Just one thing Ted, it's an ecumenical matter.

Hurst said in the interview with the OS that Jellyman and Pearson should be fit for Sat. Churdh and Sleath back in midfield and Coleman to play in front of Jellyman?

Jelleyman back in for me, tried and trusted. Coleman can play left wing...

In the days of Jim Smith, in his first management job, he always made the points that if you can see the goal, shoot, you never know what would happen next.  How many shots did that big lump of a goalkeeper have to make on Saturday?  Always the same I'm afraid, no goals, and there have not been many for a while, puts pressure on the defence.

Maybe we are also missing the Rocking Rev and his pre-match warm up routine  :dan

Will be back in the UK from August 16th through to September 6th and hoping to take in a few games, home and away in the process. Look forward to being back at York Street in whatever capacity.

Reminds me of Old Bill Shankley, when asked by a player about tactics.  The player asked if he got the ball in the area what should he do?  Bill's reply " Son put the ball in the back of the net and we will talk about the tactics after the match" :D  Something like that .
