The B-Ark / Re: Back Our Bid Against The Conference!

The right thing for the sake of football would be for Salisbury to win this appeal.

But if that were to happen, wouldn't Boston then have further grounds to consider legal action against the authorities?

Interesting story here about Murphy having fractured his skull last season ...

... Reminds me a little bit of the Peter Cech scenario. As a defender though, you've got to hope there's no psychological effect when he challenges for a header.

Given the circumstances around Davies being told to prove his fitness before being offered anything, it still seems a shame to me that the same offer couldn't have been made to Adam Millson.

The B-Ark / Re: Ilkeston in trouble?

I don't understand this.

A few years ago we were knocked out of the FA Cup by an Ilkeston side managed by Keith Alexander and with Matt Carmichael at centre forward. I can distinctly remember the players running out onto the pitch from the side of the ground where the snack bar and social club are now housed.

More recently, Ilkeston have built a brand new stand in the opposite corner of the ground, and this incorporates new dressing rooms. The players now emerge onto the pitch from the opposite side.

Given that the dressing rooms are a "new build" and not something dating back to the original ground, surely Ilkeston must have known the requirements at the time of redeveloping the ground? How can they then fall foul of this type of rule?

According to Sky Sports sources this morning, Steve Cotterill is now talking to Coventry City...

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6160305,00.html

If that move comes off, how long will it be before a certain person often talked about on this forum is linking himself with the vacancy at Notts County?

Meanwhile another former Pilgrims manager, Howard Wilkinson, has become interim chairman of Sheffield Wednesday...

The B-Ark / Re: So who's up for a trip to Harrogate Town then?
« on: May 17, 2010, 06:07:21 PM »

The bottom two sides in Blue Square North - Vauxhall Motors and Harrogate - both get reprieves from relegation.

The bottom two sides in Blue Square South - Weston Super Mare and Weymouth - are both relegated.

If I was a Weston Super Mare fan I'd be feeling particularly hard done by right now. Surely the fairest solution would be to relegate Weymouth and Harrogate, reprieve Weston Super Mare and Vauxhall Motors and perhaps switch Forest Green north to keep the two leagues equal in size.

Impressive video. Is there a way of downloading this so I can save a copy to DVD?

The B-Ark / Re: Barry Hearn

More often than not it is the actions of one set of individuals that forces a club into debt, and it is then left to a takeover consortium to try and pick up the pieces. Where this is the case, the current system penalises those who rescue clubs rather than those who cause the mess in the first place, and Hearn's proposals would only make this even worse by increasing that punishment.

The better solution would be to issue ten year banning orders preventing the individuals responsible from involvement in football at any club.

Just confirmed my initial suspicion about David Cameron. He also managed Bradford Park Avenue.....

Notts County have released two keepers, Russell Hoult and Kevin Pilkington. Not sure of their ages but i'd say probably well in their 30's.

check the grassy knoll

Isn't Kasper Schmeichel on his way out of Meadow Lane as well?

The B-Ark / Re: Off topic - petition for PR
« on: May 11, 2010, 08:50:08 PM »

Now I must admit that I haven't read all of the previous comments - as I haven't got too much time at the moment - but judging by the title "Petition for PR" I think I can guess what the discussion is about.

On the one hand I can see the merits of Paul Raynor becoming our next prime minister. He's spent most of his working life closely associated with dishonest people, and might be a good candidate to try and sort out any future MP expenses scandal. But personally I'm not sure he has the experience to solve the national debt problem.

Hope I haven't misinterpreted the discussion!

Revive this? But modernise a little in terms of shorts-length?

And don't forget to modernise the hair cuts as well.
