The B-Ark / Re: Chris Sutton

One of the puzzling aspects of this apointment was their chairman said just after Jackson was sacked that they were looking for someone with an extensive knowledge of the non league - an amasing statement in itself as they are a league club - at present anyhow.

This was of course when Gary Brabin was being tipped to be interested but Sutton hardly fits that criteria.

When exactly did we play Newcastle?

I can remember a friendly circa 1987 in which Newcastle fielded the likes of McReary, Roeder, Mirandinha, Frank Pingel, etc. That was well before Evans' time, and I can't remember us playing them more recently.

Pontins League mate, last couple of seasons in the league I think. I remember Lewis Guy who's at Donny Rover played for them.We pulled in just under 1000 for the home game.

You must be mistaken, Shodfried, The Blue Square Special One has told his local press that the game was played out in front of 3500 and he was never one to exaggerate, or is my memory worse than yours.  ;D

I wouldn't label Retford as thugs either but the elbow from Ellender was there for everybody to see, plain as day. Just how the man who should be catching these incidents did not see it beggars belief but he should have known he had dropped a big one when Churchhad to go off a couple of minutes later.

A truly poor performance from the referee who I would think will get away with it as I doubt there was an assessor present at this level.

Remember when the prick said he was at Wembley to watch Boston in the trophy final?  :D

The trouble with him is he says the first thing that comes into his head, and belives it.  :D

WOW, (wipes beads of sweat from his brow), here was me thinking that "The Blue Square Special One" had taken another club to the brink of ruin until I pay a call to their fans site and note that their public relations officer has confirmed that the generosity of their shareholders had headed this day of destiny off some time ago.

Interesting to note though that he also infers that recent player sales were also linked to this. With crowds down there hardly creeping above the 1000 mark their shareholders will need to have some deep pockets.

BUFC should take note though. If crowd here start to fall off alarmingly servicing the overheads becomes all the more dificult.

Funny how the man with so many friends in football failed to make capitol of this at the time it was supposed to have happened, at least not to my memory.

Been on loan at Both Buton Albion and Kettering without much sucess and has moved to Boston from Alfreton where he could not break into the  team.

Lets hope that he has now found his level and his scoring boots.

Lets face facts, everyone hoped, if not belived, that the new managers had got it right first time, a finely tuned unit that would brush everything before it aside.

But this is the real world and the unpredictable face of football. The team are still unbeaten so the progress made on last season is immense but it is plain to see that there is some way to go yet and even when changes are made teams are not going to lay down at York Street and let us steamroller over them. Merely because of the clubs infrastucture teams raise their game at ground such as York Street, Gigg Lane and The Walks, that's the way of it.

Would it really be a contest if we were to run up scores of five, six and seven each and every week. The tedium of that would be as bad if not worse than waiting for the first home victory.

Was hoping to get but unfortunately now not possible.

Post the score up here if you can though.

Don't Sleaford play Bury Town, the team that knocked Kings Lynn out if they get through?
