No, but 1 point out of 6 is hardly a great springboard is it? :-\

And over 100 people missing from the midweek gate too........

If u hate it that much make it 1 more  :bunny

Great thinking Einstein....... really liking your style but you forget the fact I'm as big a fan of the club as anyone, I just know the management team are piss poor and they've wasted the summer waiting for players to come to us instead of getting out and getting players in........funny how Neil Thompson and Tommy Taylor were slaughtered for their casual approach yet these two display the same attitude AND its OK........

Let me put my commitment to the cause in focus. I paid for my season ticket the day they went on sale, when I picked it up the issue number was in single digits......very low single digits.

And next season will probably be the same too.

Not that I have to do any explaining to a fecktard like you......

Lowest I can see is 850 v Frickley in 29/3 after relegation from the Conference, its the only time the opening gate has dipped below 1000 as far as I can see in my lifetime.
Back in 65/6 in the UCL the gate was recorded as 600 but thats straight after the club reformed after a season out of senior football.

Be nice to see the club name and shame the perpetrators but I bet they don't........

I felt robbed before I even got into the ground when I bought a programme - £3 is absolutely disgusting and £12 for that garbage is shocking. Thanks for ripping us good fans off Dave. We won't all be here chucking money in the pot for the rest of our lives.
Awaits the usual predictable responses....

A bit harshly put but this is what i was alluding to earlier when i said about people voting with their feet.£1 more to get in,another 50p on th programme-fans won't pay it if they believe they are paying £1.50 more for what they think is an inferior product, particularly in difficult times financially.

And if I'd said that I'd have had all the brains trust on here spewing obscenities at me....... :-\

I'd not put it so strongly but so far after two home games and 1 point from the two I'm completely underwhelmed by my matchday experience.

But I did say I thought we looked nothing like as strong as last season and that the recruitment policy was shabby in the extreme.

Hate to say 'I told you so'........

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

We remember. We just don't need it rammed down our throats at every single whisper of an opportunity you get to do so.

Noughtyforties    the great man of doom we could win 10 0 everygame next year and he would still put a downward slant on it PROVE ME WRONG

Have you got a problem with me?

You must have missed my comment on the Wigan game.......or you in your infinite wisdom chose to ignore it. I'm not the only one unhappy with the recruitment this summer yet you single me out.

Why?

That wouldn't be Andy Kirk, a massive signing who like almost everyone signed by the fat crook was totally un affordable and a reason why we got demoted 3 league in two years would it?

Not a dig at AK, I thought he was one of the few who gave good VFM, more at the mindset of the place at the time, where every signing was bigged up to be the biggest thing ever to happen to the club.

Shame we're still paying for such folly and frivolity eh?

Give it a week or two and they'll be tabling a bid for you David.

I'm just waiting for Henry and Chalker to get the call, they seem to think anyone half decent here is fair game........

Anthony Elding.

Turned down Plymouth, Stockport and Mansfield apparently.

They do appear to be building a fairly useful looking squad, lets hope its not boom and bust down Cleethorpes way......... :-\

Well well well. No moans and negative ramblings after todays fabulous match. It was certainly a more entertaing friendly today and after watching us play, I do believe we have the foundations of a confident and competitive squad. Obviously it's not perfect, but with a few additional signings, I honestly think we can hold our own this season. Granted the result wasn't against the Wigan first team, but you have to applaud the manner in which we won. We played some neat football and I was pleasantly surprised how well the players worked together as a team, considering all the new faces. A big well done to all the players.
Very much looking forward to the start of the season.

Hold our own?

We were in the play offs all season last season, the very least we should be doing is looking to push on, not 'hold our own'.

Good result and by the sounds of it some pleasing individual displays too. Lets hope for more in a similar vein.

Where's Jim Smith these days?

You could usually rely on him to bring a side down, he did with Colchester, Newcastle and Derby.

When was the last time we competed for it?

I seem to remember old Fat Boy promising us a 'special night' when Derby sent their reserves down to compete for it about 10 or 12 years ago but I can't remember anything much since then. Certainly the  Wily Old Fox has nothing down on his site since that Derby game.
