I would think the managers would be quite happy with todays performance.Solid  showing from the likes of Canners,Jells,Austin and Semple and Hall had his best game so far.Good performances from the two triallists as well.Still room for improvement but much, much better than at Boston Town and Stamford.

Can anyone who went tell us how the game actully was.
From a Boston United perspective-truly dreadful.

Stick forks in my eyes and dip my head in a vat of vinegar you say? Why sure
+1
I'll be at Stortford all being well, but i'd rather gouge my own eyes out than waste 90 minutes of my life watching the gimps.

A backward step in my opinion.I don't believe anyone can really be happy when we lose players like Church/Pearson/Murphy/SWD and replace them with this kind of player.Seems all the momentum we have built over the last two seasons with a basically young hungry team has been lost.

Spot on because DN will not spend what we haven't got.  Otherwise we will be back on the road to ruin and none of us would be happy at that scenario.
At the recent sponsor's evening DN stated that we are still running at a seasonal loss but that it is getting smaller.  But it is a DEFICIT.
The majority of fans are happy that the club is being run on a realistic budget.  We would all like to attract bigname players but have to realise the cost involved wouldn't make good reading against our current income.
My gut feeling is that we shall have to wait until we relocate and get rid of our crippling rent, before attempting to get back to where we were.
In the meantime, let's remember where we were 4 years ago.
Don't disagree with any of that, but let's play devils advocate for a moment. Those that post on here are what i guess you would call pretty dedicated,if they weren't they probably wouldn't bother registering for this forum.I would guess a lot on here are those who support fund raising events, buy replica shirts, season tickets etc. However we also have others perhaps less dedicated(if that's the right word)who just want to turn up and watch a game, and yes, sometimes have a moan. Not all will be as understanding as some on here.A season in mid table would,i believe see a fall in gates, which could lead us towards budget cuts the following seson. It's a fine line to walk.I would hate to see the feel good factor we've had around the Club for the last couple years dissipate.

Shaun was fantastic for us during his time here,he and Churchy epitomised everything that was good about the Club in the past two years. He's got his wish to play full-time and on a personal level i wish him all the success in the world.I just wish it hadn't been Grimsby.Fee to be decided by tribunal??-means we'll be lucky to see 10k.I'm sure i can hear Fenty,Scott and Hurst laughing from here........

I think the decision regarding R&D is the right one. However,i don't see why another club(Southport)should benefit from their demise, nor do i see why others(Bishops Stortford or Chelmsford)should suffer because of it.Why can't the Conference Premier play one club short as we did in BSN last season and leave the rest as it was.

Rumour has it that Bishops Stortford may resign from the Conference rather than being placed North. If that happens it seems we might get Chelmsford City instead.

Maybe he's also sick of the stick he got from certain people at most home games?  I've always thought Yatesy contributed far more consistently than Semple.  After the Durham red card I thought we should get rid, but he won me over.

If he's gone for the money, that's disappointing.  To take a step down for more money shows what sort of person he is -not the sort of player we need in our squad.  Our players need to play for the shirt, not the dollar.

Agreed. It's a decision Yates has made that's obviously nothing to do with ambition. We'll get someone in who  wants to play for the Club for the right reasons.

Jason & Lee's first priority must be to find a proven goalscorer (20 a season) at this level if we are to push for promotion next year.
Lee Stevenson from Eastwood would fit the bill nicely.

Have to agree.Guiseley have no ground,no infrastructure, just a team being bankrolled.Congatulations to Telford.they're best equipped to cope with BSP.

Not too many surprises, although i think Dan Haystead has been a bit unlucky.Good luck to all those not offered terms, especially Cully and Danny Davidison. It's fair to say both have had their critics at times, but they have played a major part in the success of the last two seasons.I wish them both the best for the future.
