I wasn't at the match last night so cannot pass comment on the performance,but it's clear that all is not well with the team and some of us believe we know why.
Two or three posters have commented on the booing/berating of certain players,and quite rightly have said this has to stop.As fans we are all frustrated with what's happening,but having a go at players is counter productive as does nothig but destroy any confidence the players may have.
I can't make it to Harrogate,but i'll be there b/h Monday for the Halifax game and i'll be at Bishops Stortford the following Saturday supporting whatever team we put out.
I'll criticise/question things on this forum-that's what it's for,but i won't have a go at the players on the pitch.People need to remember that NO player gives himself a contract or picks himself for the team-if certain players are not good enough(as i believe is the case)then the blame lies not with the players,but with those that brought them to the Club.

I actually don't think there is a problem with midfield-it's more about setting up the right way.Given that Ben Wlikinson is injured and we still have Danny Sleath to come back i think we have enough quality and options there.The problems are at the heart of the defence and up front.
In the two home games there have been common denominators at both ends of the pitch.Both Histon and Vauxhall Motors had a couple of quick forwards-and both times we struggled to cope-particularly at centre back.At the other end of the pitch against Histon we created enough chances to win three games but had no-one to put them away.Against V.M.,as poor as we were for large parts of the game,we still created 4/5 good chances,and again failed to take advantage.We need a "fox in the box" type finisher and a centre back with a bit of pace.Without them i can see results like the Vauxhall game being repeated during the season.

Thanks for ripping us good fans off Dave. We won't all be here chucking money in the pot for the rest of our lives.A bit harshly put but this is what i was alluding to earlier when i said about people voting with their feet.£1 more to get in,another 50p on th programme-fans won't pay it if they believe they are paying £1.50 more for what they think is an inferior product,particularly in difficult times financially.

No getting away from the fact we were very poor today.Some have been saying for some time that we lack the strength in depth of last seasons squad,and today proved it.Really poor first half,some improvement second with more energy,but still lacking quality especially up front.Few of them came out of the game with much credit.Austin was o.k.,Milnes showed in glimpses,but i thought Jordan Fairclough was our most energetic player and had a decect game.Other than that there was nothing positive to take from that game.Equally worrying today was the gate.It looks like some have already decided to vote with their feet.................

Not overly disappointed tonight.Respoded well after conceeding the early goal.Played some decent stuff and with a bit of luck could have gone in 2 or3-1 up at h/t.Second falf we had plenty of possession but didn't work their keeper enough.Could have done without yet another injury.Still it's 4 points from 6 and we would all have accepted that from the first two games.

« on: August 15, 2011, 10:33:22 PM »Three things for us to ponder ,No,we didn't overrate them-particularly at Blue Square North level.Let's remember Church&Pearson have both gone up a level and turned pro.(did it have to be there though)and i am sure SWD will get fixed up-he's plenty good enough for this level.
1 why did,nt any league club come in for Pearson ?
2 ditto Church
3 SWP still has not got fixed up with a non-league club.
Did some of us overrate them. ?
